Day 1: Cairo

Upon arriving at the Cairo airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.

Cairo, Egypt's sprawling capital, is set on the Nile River. Nearby, Giza is site of the iconic pyramids and Great Sphinx, dating to the 26th century B.C.E. In Gezira Island's leafy Zamalek district, 187m Cairo Tower affords panoramic city views.

Day 2: Cairo

Full day visit where we explore the famous Pyramids of Cheops, Kefren and Micerinos (tickets to go inside the pyramids are not included), and also the impressive Sphinx, which is sculpted from rock. Visit to the Egyptian Museum with its ancient art and where the treasure of the Lost Tomb of Tutankhamen is kept. Lunch includedCitadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque. We will take a walk through the Coptic neighborhood where we visit the Hanging Church built above a Roman fortress.

  • The Pyramid of Khafre is the second largest of the Giza Pyramids. It is estimated to have been built around 2570 BC. It was first fully explored in 1837 AD by John Perring.

  • This medieval Islamic fortress in Cairo was built during the reign of Saladin to defend the city against the threat of invading Crusader forces. The famous Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located within the citadel.

  • This mosque can be found at the very summit of the citadel of Cairo. Built under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, it was the largest mosque built in the first half of the 19th century.

  • This Coptic church in Cairo is one of the oldest in Egypt, with history dating back to the 3rd century AD. It gets its named because it is positioned above the gatehouse to the Babylon Fortress.

Day 3: Cairo fly to Luxor (flight included) (656 km)

Breakfast. Transfer from Cairo hotel to the airport and flight included to Luxor. Arrival and transfer to the cruise, boarding and accommodation. Full board on the cruise. Visit impressive set of temples of Luxor and Karnak.

Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs' capital at the height of their power, during the 16th-11th centuries B.C.E.

  • This vast complex of ruined temples was once the great Egyptian city of Thebes. It is a vast, open-air museum where visitors can see a cross-section into many eras of ancient Egyptian culture.

  • This large temple complex was the grand monument in ancient Thebes. Constructed around 1400 BCE, various sections were built under the rule of the famous pharaohs Tutankhamen and Ramesses II.

Day 4: Luxor - Esna (58 km)

Today you will be able to admire the Necropolis of Thebes, visiting the famous Valley of the Kings, where are hidden the tombs of the main pharaohs. Composed of several rooms and corridors that lead to the burial chambers, are among others, Ramses III, Seti I and Amenhotep II. You will also visit the Colossae of Memnon, two impressive statues of Amenophis II, as well as the Temple of Queen Hatsepsut (Deir el Bahari) and the Temple of Medinet Habu. During this day we can enjoy the beauty of the Nile riverbanks. You could do different activities on the boat and at evening enjoy the music at the disco. Full board. Night on board, navigating to Esna.

Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs' capital at the height of their power, during the 16th-11th centuries B.C.E.

  • This valley is named because during a period of about 500 years, several Egyptian pharaohs were buried here. It is one of the most significant Egyptian archaeological sites.

  • These two massive stone statues near Luxor have stood for nearly 3,400 years, marking the entrance to the ancient Theban necropolis. Both statues depict the pharaoh Amenhotep III and are made of quartzite sandstone.

  • Nestled into a set of cliffs in the ancient city of Thebes, now modern day Luxor, this ancient temple is dedicated to the god Amen-Ra. It is considered the closest ancient Egyptians came to the Calssical style of architecture.

Day 5: Esna - Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan (187 km)

Arrival to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus (God represented by a Falcon), which in the past was partially covered by lime during the periodic flooding of the river Nile. The rescue and restoration work complete, we now have one of the most beautiful temples of Ptolemaic times, in an exceptional state of preservation. Navigation to Kom Ombo. Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, the only temple dedicated to two gods, Sobek and Haroesis, where we find a Nilometer (former system for measuring the level of the Nile River) and a mummified crocodile. During the evening you will be able to enjoy the Chilaba’s party, local typical outfit (on route you could economically acquire them at local markets). Full board. This city sits on the West Bank of the Nile River in Egypt, between Esna and Aswan. It is notable for the massive Temple of Horus and the remains of ancient pyramids.

It is an agricultural town in Egypt famous for the Temple of Kom Ombo.

  • The Temple of Kom Ombo is unique due to its double design. This meant that there were courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek. The northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris ("Horus the Elder"), along "with Tasenetnofret or Panebtawy (Lord of the Two Lands)."

Day 6: Aswan

Arrival to Aswan. Possibility of getting the optional tour to Abu Simbel (visit NOT included in the itinerary). Visit the Red Granite quarry where is the famous 41 meters high Unfinished Obelisk. We will also visit the Aswan Dam, one of the largest in the world, which created Lake Nasser with a length of more than 500 km. We will visit the beautiful Temple of Philae dedicated to the goddess Isis and located on a small island that can only be accessed by boat. In the afternoon, a felucca cruise on the Nile, typical sailing boats in the area, heading to the island of Kitchener where the Botanical Garden is located. Full board. Accommodation on board.

Aswan is a city in the south of Egypt, and is the capital of the Aswan Governorate.Aswan is a busy market and tourist centre located just north of the Aswan Dam on the east bank of the Nile at the first cataract.

  • These two massive rock temples in Aswan were carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II. They were forgotten for thousands of years, buried under sand until their rediscovery in 1813.

  • This ancient obelisk is the largest known in the world, weighing in at around 1,200 tons, but it was buried under bedrock for many years due to its incompletion. It was most likely built during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut.

  • This embankment dam sits on the Nile River in southern Egypt. Built between 1898 and 1902 to prevent the annual flooding of the Nile River, the dam also provides irrigation water and hydroelectric power.

  • This temple was built on the island of Philae, which sits downstream of the Aswan Dam, in the 4th century BC. The temple has been noted for its architectural prowess.
